Raintree Lodge
Winner of the Excellence in Tourism Award for Best Budget Hotel. Raintree Lodge is the first fully designed Ecotourism lodge in
the Fiji Islands. Raintree Lodge is
located right next to the Colo-i-Suva Forest Park, on the scenic
alternative route between Nausori Airport and Suva. Raintree Lodge
is approximately 15 minutes from the airport and 12 minutes from
Suva.
Location: Suva area.
Resort Amenities: A restaurant,
bar, shop and reception/office near
the front entrance caters for both guests and locals.
Timber buildings are carefully sited amongst trees and boulders
(only 1 tree was removed during construction),
with views over the lakes.
Features of the design of the eco-tourist resort include recycling
of all "grey" water and triple filtering of toilet waste,
composting of all paper and vegetable matter, no pesticides and wherever
possible food is home-grown or organic.

caters for couples/families in
one section (4 detached Bures)
and backpackers in another section
of the property ( 3 dormitories with
self catering kitchen and toilet/shower
blocks with hot water showers).
Accommodation is simple, clean and comfortable with ceiling fans
in all rooms (air-conditioning is not
necessary) and mosquito nets in lodges.
The family lodge is fully self contained.
Activities: Swimming, lake fishing, bush walking and bird watching, volleyball and petanque, Forest Park waterfall picnics and BBQ's.
